Today, we’ve got a lot of details for an upcoming smartphones. As the Android world moves forward from Samsung’s launch of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, it’s time to see what else is headed our way. After Sony and Samsung, other manufacturers will also provide us with smartphones that feature the 10nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 835. Out of these, we’re excited for what HMD global has to ofer. The company’s had a lot of success with its Nokia refresh. However, details related to a flagship smartphone are scanty. Not today though. Take a look below to find out more.
It’s been a while since any information has surfaced for Nokia and HMD’s plans for a 2017 flagship. As of now, the company’s content to target the middle/low tier. This has worked out spectacularly well for them, especially in China. However, to make it in the smartphone world, you need a flagship. That’s where manufacturers get to show off their true prowess. The current device from HMD that’s pegged as a flagship is the Nokia 8. It’s rumored with the Snapdragon 835 and a host of other specifications that befit a top-tier mobile gadget.
Now, a source claims that it’ll be the Nokia 9 which will carry the flagship crown. We also get a detailed specifications list for the smartphone, that covers nearly every aspect. The highlight for the Nokia 9 will be Nokia OZO Audio. OZO audio builds upon 3D sound and is primed to provide the perfect surround sound experience on your headphones. It will also include support for up to four microphones for audio recording. This is a feature that’s also rumored for the upcoming HTC U.
Specifications for the device include the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, coupled with impressive 6GB RAM on the processing end. Screen size for the Nokia 9 will stand at 5.5 inches with QHD resolution and an OLED build. The device will feature a 22MP rear camera sensor and a 12MP front camera. It’s interesting to note that the source still claims Carl Zeiss branding for the Nokia 9’s rear camera. Makes us doubt the authenticity of today’s information. Interestingly, the Nokia 9 will become 2017’s second flagship to sport Iris recognition as well, in addition to standard fingerprint recognition. Finally, a 3000mAh battery will power the device, which will also be IP* dust and water proof.
Sounds like a performance and specification powerhouse to us. HMD will catapult itself to the top of the smartphone race with this rumored device. This fact is of course, contingent on whether the company will be able to find adequate manufacturing capabilities for a flagship smartphone. All these features aren’t easy to integrate in a smartphone, as Samsung learned with the Galaxy Note 7. As of now, take all of this with the proverbial salt mine. Thoughts?
